Polish Language Certificate Exam By-Laws

§ 1 Introductory remarks

  1. VARIA Polish Language Center (Varia) organizes state certification examinations in Polish as a foreign language (Exam) on the basis of the authorizations granted by the decision of May 12, 2025 by the Minister of Science and Higher Education.
  2. The examinations are coordinated by the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language (NAWA).
  3. The exams are conducted on dates specified in the examination session schedule, established by NAWA, based on examination sets provided by the aforementioned NAWA. The dates of the examination sessions held in a given calendar year are provided on the website www.certyfikatpolski.pl.
  4. The dates of the examination sessions available at the Varia Polish Language Center are available at www.kurspolskiego.pl
  5. The exam is open to all foreigners or Polish citizens who permanently reside abroad and whose first language is not Polish, but who are interested in documenting their level of proficiency in Polish.
  6. Persons who are at least 18 years old on the day of the exam may take the exam in a group adapted to the needs of adults.
  7. Exams may be organized at the following levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1.

§ 2 Exam registration

  1. The condition for admission to the exam is to fill in the application form available on the website www.kurspolskiego.pl and pay the exam fee for the selected level by the specified date. The price list is available on the website www.kurspolskiego.pl. The costs of transfer and currency conversion are covered by the payer.
  2. The number of places for the exam is limited.
  3. The registration form is active until places are filled.
  4. Candidates bear full responsibility for the accuracy and correctness of the data provided in the form (spelling must match the information in the passport or other identity document). This information serves as the basis for issuing the certificate.
  5. After registering for the exam at Varia Centre of Polish Language and making the payment, it is not possible to change the exam level, the exam location to another center, or the candidate’s personal data.

§ 3 Candidates with special needs

  1. Candidates who require adaptation of the conditions and form of the examination to their special health needs are obliged to report them during registration in the application form and to send scans of appropriate medical certificates to the e-mail address info@kurspolskiego.pl, in accordance with the information provided on the website: http://certyfikatpolski.pl/o-egzaminie/kandydaci-o-specjalnych-potrzebach/
  2. The school reserves the right not to organize an examination for candidates with special needs in a given examination session.

§ 4 Cancellation of the exam

  1. Varia reserves the right to organize examinations in a given examination session provided that a sufficient number of candidates register.
  2. Candidates will receive a refund of the examination fee paid to their designated account in the event that the Varia School cancels the examination in a given examination session.

§ 5 Payment for the exam can be made in cash, by card or by bank transfer to the account:

All bank fees are the responsibility of the Student.

The price in PLN is shown when the application form is opened and is converted from the euro amount according to the average euro exchange rate announced by the National Bank of Poland on the last day of the month preceding the month in which the payment is made.

§ 6 Withdrawal from the exam

  1. To withdraw from the exam, please send an email to info@kurspolskiego.pl with the subject “Resignation from the exam” with information about withdrawing from the exam.
  2. The exam fee is refunded in the following cases:
    1. withdrawal at least 40 days before the exam – 50% of the paid amount.
    2. withdrawal less than 40 days before the exam – no refund of the paid amount.
  3. Please allow up to 7 business weeks for your refund.

§ 7 Exam results and issuance of the certificate

  1. Varia Polish Language Center informs candidates of their exam results by email. The process of checking and sending the results may take up to 10 weeks after the exam.
  2. Certificates are issued after payment of the certificate fee within 30 days of receipt of the examination report with the final results.
  3. Candidates have the right to review a copy of their exam work (available at Varia Polish Language Center in Kraków) by submitting a request via email to info@kurspolskiego.pl within 21 days from the date the exam results are sent.
  4. A candidate who does not agree with the awarded score has the right to submit an application for a re-check of the written part of the exam. The application should be submitted in writing to NAWA within 21 days of receiving information about the exam result.
