You have the opportunity to learn Polish from the absolute basics or develop your already acquired skills. You will come to school (in the center of Krakow) twice a week, for 1.5 hours or once a week for 3 hours. You can choose morning or evening classes. During the course, you will meet cool people (from all over the world), and maybe even make friends for life. Our events, lectures and workshops on Polish language and Polish culture will help you integrate with your colleagues.

Semester course - regular Polish language learning
The most important thing about the semester course:
Polish language lessons are held at our school in Krakow, at 2/3 Michałowskiego Street (in the center of Krakow). One semester lasts 4 months (you can find the course dates below). If you plan to study longer, you can sign up for a year-long Polish language course, which consists of three semesters and one intensive course.
In the semester course we use textbooks and exercise books “Hurra! Po Polsku” – adapted to the appropriate language level. Advanced levels B2 and C use original materials prepared by our teachers.

Do you already speak (some) Polish?
We are the only school in Cracow that can offer you Polish language courses at all levels (from beginner to advanced). If you have already studied Polish we will ask you to complete a placement test. We will also have a short conversation with you in Polish and assign you to a group at the appropriate language level.

An effective method of learning Polish
During lessons we speak, teach and think 🙂 in Polish. Our students come from all over the world and Polish is often the only common language of all students. The communicative method of teaching motivates course participants not only to speak, but also to think in a language other than their native one. All Varia School teachers also speak English, so if the need arises, some issues or organizational questions can be explained in English.

Master Polish cases
Grammar is an important part of our semester course, where you learn it in a variety of contexts and communicative situations. However, we know that Polish declension is a topic that often raises the most questions and requires extra attention.
To help you deal with Polish endings once and for all, we have prepared special workshops on Polish cases that will perfectly complement your semester.
It is a 5-week online course (5 sessions × 120 minutes) in which we explain, in a clear and structured way, the logic behind Polish endings. Each session includes 60 minutes of theory in simple English and 60 minutes of intensive practice.
Why is it so important? In Polish, endings determine the meaning of a sentence — who is doing the action and who is receiving it. Knowing declension is therefore essential if you want to speak not only fluently, but above all correctly and clearly.

From which countries do students studying at the VARIA School most often come?
At VARIA School we have students from all over the world :)! We have had students from over 90 countries. Most people come from Europe, from countries neighboring Poland, but increasingly also from other continents, sometimes from very distant corners of the world.
Can I receive a certificate that I am taking part in a Polish language course at the VARIA School? What conditions must be met?
A certificate confirming participation in a Polish language course at VARIA School is sometimes required by our students when applying for a visa or an extension of their legal stay in Poland. We issue such certificates to individuals who have enrolled in the specified course and paid the required fee.
When and how do I use the student panel if I am a student at the VARIA Polish Language Center?
Each participant of a group Polish language course (semester and intensive) receives access to their student panel, where they can easily check the material from the last lessons and download exercises for printing.
What lectures and workshops are organised during the semester course at the VARIA School?
Lectures and workshops at the VARIA School cover various aspects of Polish language and culture. These include pronunciation workshops, during which you will learn how to correctly pronounce the "rustling" consonants in Polish, practice your accent and proper intonation. We will also invite you to slang workshops, where you will learn a lot of useful and "up-to-date" words from everyday language! We also offer "delicious" culinary workshops with tasting Polish dishes, a practical lecture on Polish savoir vivre or Polish song workshops with an evening out for karaoke 😉.
How can I sign up for a Polish language course at the VARIA School?
The fastest way to register for a Polish language course at our school is to fill out the registration form, which is located on our website. Registrations are also accepted at the office of the VARIA Polish Language School, ul. Michałowskiego 2/3, Kraków. When booking a course, please pay the first installment (specified in the description of each course) or the entire amount for the course, it is a confirmation of participation and guarantees a place on the course.
